Review - The Secret Star by K.C. Finn

The Secret Star by K.C. Finn

I have...no words for this book.  I hope this review has more than the words, "ASDGLGJFSKDFHAALVXNX DANNY" through out.

It's like K.C. Finn was in my room with me, pummeling my body with each plot twist and heart breaking moment in these chapters.  Action from the word go forced me to read every single word till the last page.

"In London, 1969, Jeffrey Mercier is just an ageing department store clerk with a long buried secret and a distant memory of a lost love, but when he is suddenly shanghaied by a woman who claims that she can travel in time, his dismal days in menswear are finally cut short..."      Holy cow, okay, I can do this.  Let's talk about the setting.  I thought it was great, I love historical fiction books, and even thought that's not this book's genre, the brief points where the characters interact with history was fantastic.  I'm kind of thankful that Finn didn't take too much time in developing the future world.  It left it up to my imagination, and God knows she could have created the whole universe if she wanted to.  But she didn't, and I think that was a great move.

The characters.  THE CHARACTERS!  First off, Danny.  Second off, Jeff.  That's literally all I can say.  Their romance was just so.....ugh, amazing.  And Marie, fighting through her handicap and facing the fears of the war and her family, she is just such a strong character.  You'll meet a lot of fantastic people in this story, and one not so fantastic.  But still.

I don't think I'll ever quite get over this book.  It'll take a lot of one-night-stands with other books for me to ever forget about this one, and I mean a lot.  I recommend this book 100/100, A+, 5/5 stars. 10/10 would bang.
