Double Down

In Vegas, there was one man who was off limits. One man… and I fell for him. I knew there were risks. Still, I played the game. When Dario Capece called, I answered. When he beckoned, I came. When he broke all my rules, I looked the other way. I knew there were risks. I just never realized they included death.

"He dominated and healed, reassured me and begged me. In that kiss, a part of us broke apart and then fused back together. Two things to smell. One thing to taste."

After the ending of Even Money, I was dying to dive into Double Down. Even Money left me in a pit of feels and I couldn't get into this book fast enough. Without spoiling Even Money...it ends in a major cliffhanger and you will be begging for Double Down.

Double Down picks up right where the first book ended and doesn't stop with the feels until the very end. This book is a whirlwind of feelings and emotions. Everything that Dario has protected is in shambles and he's desperate to get his life back in order.

"Me. In this moment, he wasn't the arrogant alpha male I knew. He wasn't the King of Vegas. He was stripped bare of anything outside of this room, and he was mine."

Dario and Bell have so many people trying to take them down and make their lives hell. After the ending of Even Money, Dario and Bell are trying to piece their lives back together and learn how to move on. To be happy. But it won't be easy and every thing that they do will come with a cost.

"Love me through the cracks."

I did love this book and I loved how everything wrapped up. But I did feel it was a little rushed in places and I didn't love it quite as much as the first book. But I still loved the characters and adored their story.
