A billion-dollar fashion empire, and it’s about to be mine…

I've worked a decade for this. I've sold my soul and my reputation. I've lived a lie, smiled for the cameras, and hated myself, all for this inheritance.

And then … she pops up. A mysterious heir with a rap sheet, combat boots, and a mouth that I want to pin shut with my—It doesn’t matter. I’ve played this game for a decade. I can continue the charade a little longer, keep my hands to myself and her body out of my mind. I can keep my secret until the ink dries and everything is mine.
Or not.

I hate to admit that this was my first Alessandra Torre book. I know...don't hate me. *sigh* I've been wanting to pick up one of her gorgeous books for awhile now but just never could find the time. When I was approached to review Hidden Seams, I jumped on the chance to FINALLY read one of her books.

Hidden Seams is different from anything I have ever read before, I can honestly say. And that's a good thing. I live off of  genuinely different books and that's what Torre has written.

"She'd be loud when I let loose on her. I'd have to gag her with my fingers, muffle her moans, silence her with my kiss. Her skin would flush, her lipstick smear."

Avery lives a good life, a hard life, but a good life none the less. She helps people everyday and that feels good but it's also a risky business. Maybe slightly illegal but that doesn't stop her. But in the back of her head she's always had this missing piece, a piece that is missing because she doesn't know who her real father is. All she has of him is a photo of him and her real mom at a festival.

One day she sees the brilliant fashion icon Vince Horace has died and he looks just like an older version of the man in her photo. But it can't be him, can it? Vince is a gay man, a proud gay man and has never as far as anyone knows been with a woman. He lived a long life with his boyfriend...Marco Lent.

"A man like this could destroy my heart. A man like this will make every other man, and every other love, seem weak in comparison."

But here's the thing about Marco, he's a very complex character...so complex that you find yourself questioning so many things. Is he really gay? Is he bisexual? Is he straight? His story is so complex and only begins to unravel with every page that you read.

"There are no words for a man like him, no explanation for how perfectly created, the lines of his body, the cut of his jaw, the thick line of his lashes, the rough pout of his lips."

I swooned, I laughed, and I felt all the feels with this book. These characters are so complex and so fun to read. The mystery of Marco Lent was one of my favorite things about this story because I had NEVER read a character like him before. You will fall in love with Marco and Avery. And it all starts with a Rolls Royce.
