Melissa Trujillo knows suffering. She's tasted it, touched it, injected it. Sobriety is a gift, but it isn't enough to wash away her secrets.

Kieran O’Connell knows sacrifice. He's owned it, held it between his fingers, and felt it in his knees. Words are his freedom, and they've begun to fade.

Two different worlds, one moment and the Earth shifts—granting them a path.
His eyes meet hers. Her hand fits his.

Kieran finds his muse.
Melissa finds her new addiction.

When sin meets virtue, angels fall, and the truth, it becomes a blade. Together they’ll walk the sharp edge, but if her lies cut too deep, not even his words could save her… save them.

"Betrayal was a woman with dark eyes and sinful lips."

You ever read a book and it's so beautiful, it touches your soul and never leaves your heart? That's this book for me. Poet is everything that you could ever want, wrapped up into one book. A. M. Johnson has always been one of my favorite authors because of her beautiful way to tell a story. She makes it seem so effortless. Her writing is like poetry in it's most eloquent form.

"She is the light, and I am the shadow that chases her dawn."

Avenues Ink is her writing at it's most beautiful. The way she writes these characters, will have you feeling every ounce of pain along with them and smiling when they are happy. You will FEEL everything! The O'Connell clan is one of the most beautifully, messed up, and amazingly written characters.

"She was the sin I wanted to commit."

Poet follows the story of Kieran O'Connell, the youngest O'Connell brother, and his lady of interest Melissa Trujillo. Though I didn't want to share Kieran because he is EVERYTHING and instantly became one of my all time favorite book boyfriends, Melissa is amazing. I really loved these two and was rooting for them on the sidelines the whole time.

"His light eyes danced as they held mine, and I wanted to fall inside them, tell him all of my secrets, pray at his feet, and ask him to look past my soiled soul."

Kieran is a troubled soul and has been struggling with the lose of someone very close to him. But he knows he can't grieve forever and with his brothers pushing him forward to get a life, he knows it's time. He finds himself lost in his words, writing with ink on his fingers and his heart on his sleeve. But he finds his muse when he meets Melissa but she has a dark past. Kieran's had enough darkness in his life to last a lifetime but he can't stop thinking about her. Her dark hair, her dark eyes, her caramel skin. He needs her, he wants her, she's his poetry.

"She made him smile, and it was enough... to make him feel real in a world of fiction."

These two will leave you in a puddle of feels and begging for more. Johnson's writing will leave you breathless.
