Release Day Blitz + Dual Review: WE OWN TONIGHT by Corinne Michaels

I’m not a one-night stand kind of woman. I’m especially not the woman who has a few drinks at a concert and ends up in bed with my childhood celebrity crush, Eli Walsh.

However, that’s exactly where I find myself.

What’s a girl to do after a drunken mistake? Run. I grab my clothes and get away from the powerful, irresistible, and best-sex-of-my-life superstar as fast as I can. His gorgeous green eyes, rock-hard body, and cocky smile have no place in my world. My life is complicated enough.

Someone forgot to tell him that.

Eli is relentless. Pushing his way into my heart, wearing me down, proving he’s nothing like I assumed, and everything I need. But when my world shatters to pieces, he holds the broken bits together. Unwillingly, I fall desperately in love with him.

He made me think we’d have forever . . . I should’ve listened when he said we could only own tonight.

"The arena goes black. And slowly, I see something rise out of the stage. I stand mesmerized. The light shines in my eyes, blinding me, but when I can see again, I would swear that Eli Walsh is staring right at me."

Oh Eli, Eli, Eli. This book was like living out all my childhood fantasy about finally getting the hot guy from your favorite boy band. Because come on, let's admit it...we all have had that dream. This book was like living out a fantasy, if only it could come true. I'm still waiting on my Eli Walsh.

"Eli Walsh smiled and winked at me. I just died."

I was so excited to get my hands on this book but that's no different when it comes to a Michael's book. Though this book had it's pee your pants funny moments, it still had those sob in the corner moments that this lady does so well. We Own Tonight is a standalone read and follows the story of Eli and Heather. Neither of them have had an easy life, though one has been more privileged than the other.

"And for tonight, I'm going to fulfill my teenage fantasy. I'm going to sleep with Eli Walsh...on a tour bus...after an FBD concert."

Heather has had a hard life and it doesn't appear to be getting an easier. Her friends are finally able to pull her away from all the struggles Heather is currently facing to go to a Four Blocks Down concert. Four Blocks Down is a band that she grew up with and can't believe she's going to see with her girls. But little does she know, that concert will change her life.

"Eli breathes life into a heart that was deflated. A heart that never thought it would beat again is once again thumping at a steady pace."

Eli has always been in the limelight. If it wasn't music, it was movies...being a celebrity/ sex symbol is what he knows. He never thought he would settle down, EVER...but that all changes with one glance. He's captivated by Heather. Eli wants more than a one night stand and he's not used to that. He never planned for love but it seems love is planned for him.

"My fingers grip his neck as I hold his lips to mine. I drown in this kiss. I die in this kiss. I come to life in this kiss."

Heather and Eli were put in each other lives for a reason. They were exactly what they never knew they needed. Two people that never expected love...was given love full forth. But love always comes with a price. I adored this book. It was the perfect blend of fantasy and real life, written in only Corinne fashion.

Do you have that one celebrity crush? The one you wish you could have just one night with? The one your spouse would give you a "free pass" for? No? Come on. Be honest. There's someone out there that stars in all your late night dreams and fantasies. For Heather Covey that person is Eli Walsh. She's had a crush on him since FOUR BLOCKS DOWN debuted as a boy band when she was young. Now in her 30's, a grown woman and divorcee, Heather gets a chance to see him in concert again. She decides, for just tonight, to let loose and have a good time. Something she hasn’t done in… well, FOREVER. She lets her walls and her defenses down. In that moment, while performing on stage, Eli takes notice of her. He calls her on stage as part of the show. From there things heat up even more when he asks her to meet him backstage after the show. Terrified by what she did and a little ashamed Heather makes a run for it. She has too much going on in her life to let something like this happen.

"Loving another gives them power, it can be beautiful, fulfilling and as easy as breathing, but if I lose it again, it will destroy me."

Eli is known for his playboy ways. But there's something about Heather that intrigues him. Perhaps it's the fact that she doesn't seem to "want him" the way other women do. So when she walks out on him after their hookup, he finds himself chasing her. Something he's never done before. He pushes himself into her life, but she's been burned and abandoned so many times that she can't let him in.

"She's something completely different. For the first time, I don't have someone chasing me because of who I am."

You guys all know I'm a LONG time fan of Corinne Michaels books! I'm going to be up front an honest that WE OWN TONIGHT was not my favorite book by Corinne Michaels. I adore her writing, but I just didn't connect with the two main characters of this book. I don't know if it was just my current frame of mind/mood or something else. Despite my lack of connection I enjoyed the story and was invested in finding out what was going to happen next. If you love romance novels with a fun story, some comedy, a bit of heartache and a HEA, then this book is one you may enjoy!

New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal Bestseller Corinne Michaels is the author of nine romance novels. She’s an emotional, witty, sarcastic, and fun loving mom of two beautiful children. Corinne is happily married to the man of her dreams and is a former Navy wife. After spending months away from her husband while he was deployed, reading and writing was her escape from the loneliness. She enjoys putting her characters through intense heartbreak and finding a way to heal them through their struggles. Her stories are chock full of emotion, humor, and unrelenting love.
