We are absolutely thrilled to bring you the Review & Excerpt Tour for K.A. Tucker’s HE WILL BE MY RUIN! HE WILL BE MY RUIN is a K.A. Tucker's first suspense novel, published by Atria books, an Imprint of Simon & Schuster, and is set to be released February 2, 2016!

He Will Be My Ruin -cover

A woman who almost had it all . . .
On the surface, Celine Gonzalez had everything a twenty-eight-year-old woman could want: a one-bedroom apartment on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, a job that (mostly) paid the bills, and an acceptance letter to the prestigious Hollingsworth Institute of Art, where she would finally live out her dream of becoming an antiques appraiser for a major auction house. All she had worked so hard to achieve was finally within her reach. So why would she kill herself?
A man who was supposed to be her salvation . . .
Maggie Sparkes arrives in New York City to pack up what’s left of her best friend’s belongings after a suicide that has left everyone stunned. The police have deemed the evidence conclusive: Celine got into bed, downed a lethal cocktail of pills and vodka, and never woke up. But when Maggie discovers a scandalous photograph in a lock box hidden in Celine’s apartment, she begins asking questions. Questions about the man Celine fell in love with. The man she never told anyone about, not even Maggie. The man Celine believed would change her life.
Until he became her ruin.
On the hunt for evidence that will force the police to reopen the case, Maggie uncovers more than she bargained for about Celine’s private life—and inadvertently puts herself on the radar of a killer. A killer who will stop at nothing to keep his crimes undiscovered.

If I could give this book more than 5 stars I absolutely would! I've been a fan of KA's work for quite
some time now but He Will Be My Ruin was a total game changer for me.
KA's first suspense novel did not disappoint.
I went into this book completely blind, made plot assumptions based on the cover alone and once I started reading my mind was blown.
This book takes you in some many different directions as you go along.
Maggie and Celine had been friends since they were little kids, they were both from very different upbringings and their lives couldn't have been any more different even as they grew up. Maggie had a privileged life while Celine's was in some ways a struggle.
Nonetheless despite their different paths, Maggie and Celine stayed closed and continued their friendship through adulthood.
Maggie goes to New York after she gets the devastating news that her friend and sister in so many ways has committed suicide. When she arrives in the city Maggie heads to Celine's apartment to start taking care of any lingering business and pack up her friend's things though while in the middle of packing she finds a picture clearly hidden, that raises too many questions for Maggie's comfort. The police have concluded that Celine's a clear case of suicide and didn't give it any more thought. Maggie thinks there is more to this than meets the eye.
The police won't listen to her though, the detective in charge of Celine's case, tells her time and time again that it's pretty common for family and friends to feel it couldn't have been suicide, that there had to be foul play, because it's often hard to come to terms with their loved one taking their own life.
In this case though things are different and there is something that seriously doesn't add up and Maggie sets out to figure out what it is and who this mysterious guy in the photograph Celine had hidden is, but most importantly to find out how he fits into all this.
While trying to find out more about Celine and her life in NYC she meets a couple of her neighbors, a really friendly, though super nosy, old lady who lives across the hall and a friendly, young and handsome Super who also lives in the building.
Maggie will soon find out that while she's always known Celine to be into antiques and the research of them, she had no idea what else Celine was involved in, and upon finding out what Celine had been doing the last few months of her life Maggie starts questioning how well she really knew her best friend after all.
Maggie is not detective though, she is a humanitarian who's been living in third world countries working to bring the people there a better quality of life. When the police refuse to look at Celine's case she enlists the help of a PI. Not only will this search for clues and answers be challenging it will also be dangerous, as it will put her in the murderer's path.
But how to avoid the murderer when you do not know who it is?
There were points where I thought I had everything figured out and then BAM! KA throws a  monkey wrench into the mix and you are back to square one.
You will without a doubt suspect everyone, at one point I was wondering if maybe I had killed Celine myself ha!
He Will Be My Ruin will keep you at the edge of your seat from page one to the very very end.
One of the best suspense novels I had ever read, it will keep your heart pounding and your adrenaline coursing!
An absolute must read that will leave you thinking about it long after you're done. Incredible suspense debut for KA Tucker, and I sure hope she brings us some more!
