Cover Reveal: Burning Kingdoms by Lauren DeStefano
Lauren DeStefano is one of my favorite YA authors. I absolutely adore her trilogy - The Chemical Garden (pictured above) and really loved her latest release - Perfect Ruin (also pictured above). Upon finding out that Perfect Ruin would also be part of a series - The Internment Chronicles -, I was super pumped!
So, now I'm super pumped to show you guys the cover for the second book - Burning Kingdoms. (Originally released by Krista's Dust Jacket, my Cora Carmack street team partner in crime)
Now before you say it: yes - this cover has been repackaged, which also means we'll see a new cover for Perfect Ruin. I know a lot of times, people think this is a money ploy - and sometimes, it probably is. But to be honest, authors really don't get a ton of say in their covers - and Lauren is thrilled that she got a little say in these, so if they're repackaged solely so she can say "I really love this cover" and mean it - I'm okay with that. I'll support her tiil the end. Ride or Die, homie.
So here's Perfect Ruin - repackaged to match Burning Kingdoms:

Summary: After escaping through the bottom of Internment, Morgan and her fellow fugitives aboard the great mechanical bird land on the ground to finally learn what has lived beneath their floating island home all these eons.
The ground is a strange place where water falls from the sky as snow, and customers watch moving pictures and visit speakeasies. A place where families can have as many children as they want, their dead are buried in vast gardens of bodies, and Internment is the feature of an amusement park.
It is also a land at war.
Everyone who fled Internment had their own reasons to escape their corrupt haven. But caught under the watchful eye of another king that wants to dominate his world, they wonder if coming to the ground will drag Internment down with them
Previously released, re-releasing in paperback (with new over) March 10, 2015
On the floating city of Internment, you can be anything you dream, unless you approach the edge. Morgan Stockhour knows getting too close can lead to madness, like her older brother Len, a Jumper. She takes solace in her best friend Pen, and in Basil, the boy she’s engaged to marry. When she investigates the first murder in a generation, she meets Judas. The suspect was betrothed to the victim, but Morgan believes he is innocent. Nothing can prepare Morgan for the secrets she will find – or whom she will lose.
