Des Moines New Adult AVID Event: Cora Carmack & J. Lynn
Hello everyone! As some of you know, Christina and myself (Carmen) were able to make the quick 3 hour drive up from Kansas City, MO to Des Moines, IA for the New Adult AViD Event featuring J. Lynn (Jennifer L. Armentrout), Cora Carmack, and Jay Crownover! I found it pretty funny that the ad for this event says "It's Raining Authors", because we were definitely rained on alright. For us here in Kansas City, we had quite an active day of tornados, but decided to brave the storms and drive on up. However, we didn't exactly make a clean get away. During the event, Des Moines was also under a tornado watch and had a pretty powerful storm roll through too. So, needless to say, the ad was definitely spot on!
It was held at the Des Moines Public Library - which was very beautiful! They were very organized with this event as well.Unfortunately, Jay Crownover had a flight delay and was unable to attend the event, but it was still very entertaining!
Christina was able to record some of the panel and a few little extra tidbits on our journey for you guys, so you're able to see Cora Carmack and J. Lynn answer a lot of questions from fans and talk about new things coming up in the future for them. (See video below)

Here are some of the photos from the event as well!
# 1 New York Times and International Bestselling author Jennifer lives in Martinsburg, West Virginia. All the rumors you’ve heard about her state aren’t true. When she’s not hard at work writing. she spends her time reading, working out, watching really bad zombie movies, pretending to write, and hanging out with her husband and her Jack Russell Loki.
Her dreams of becoming an author started in algebra class, where she spent most of her time writing short stories….which explains her dismal grades in math. Jennifer writes young adult paranormal, science fiction, fantasy, and contemporary romance. She is published with Spencer Hill Press, Entangled Teen and Brazen, Disney/Hyperion and Harlequin Teen. Her book Obsidian has been optioned for a major motion picture and her Covenant Series has been optioned for TV.
She also writes adult and New Adult romance under the name J. Lynn. She is published by Entangled Brazen and HarperCollins.
Cora Carmack is a twenty-something writer who likes to write about twenty-something characters. She's done a multitude of things in her life-- boring jobs (like working retail), Fun jobs (like working in a theatre), stressful jobs (like teaching), and dream jobs (like writing). She enjoys placing her characters in the most awkward situations possible, and then trying to help them get a boyfriend out of it. Awkward people need love, too. She is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Losing It series.
I've been hearing about all these great author events lately and I here I am living on my tiny island, that no one important ever visits, waving a giant flag saying "I LOVE YOU AUTHORS! PLEASE COME TO SAIPAN!" But, at least all the readers in Nashville are happy! <3
